Shorts series

A Shorts series is a run of short vertical episodes with a recurring setup, published to a creator's YouTube Shorts feed, often alongside a long-form series. In June 2025 YouTube put Shorts at more than 200 billion daily views on average (YouTube Blog, June 2025).

The shape of it

Each Short repeats a setup the audience learns quickly, a question, a test, a before and after, so the tenth episode lands faster than the first.

A Shorts series works on its own, and it also works as a way in to a long series, with each Short sending viewers to the full episode.

Where the brand sits

The brand is part of the recurring setup, which keeps it in every episode without a separate read. Each Short carries the paid promotion label (YouTube Help).

How we make it

We shoot Shorts in batches, often on the same days as a long-form series, framed for vertical from the start rather than cropped later. Captions are burned in and kept clear of the parts of the screen the app covers.

Where it runs

Episodes post several times a week on the creator's Shorts feed and are reposted or cut again for the brand. By YouTube's global data for January 2025 to January 2026, advertisers that promoted creator-led videos on Shorts saw conversion lift rise 30% on average (YouTube Blog, March 2026).

How it is measured

Views, the share of people who watched rather than swiped away, follows from the Shorts feed and clicks through to long episodes, read against a lift study when the Shorts run with paid support.

When another format fits better

If the subject needs explaining, Shorts can introduce it while a creator-hosted series or a video podcast does the explaining.

Shapes and runtimes are the ranges we plan to, not industry standards.
